OCR: ===== ========= HELP FOR MAIN MENU (A)d just personal settings: This command presents a screen that lists your current settings as well as personal information, such as your address and telephone numbers. You can change any of the items on this screen except your name. If you name is wrong, or has changed, send a message to the SysOp requesting the change. Quitting this screen automatically saves the changes you made, if any. (Bulletins menu: Moves you to the menu of available bulletins. Then select the bulletin you wish to read by typing in its number. Press <ENTER> alone to quit the bulletins menu. (C)omment to SysOp: Allows you to write a message to the system operator. The message is marked "private" automatically. Be advised that private messages on this BBS can be viewed by individuals other than the intended recipient. The (C)omment to SysOp command is a quick way of moving to the message system, selecting (Write a message, and then addressing that message to the system operator. (D)oors menu: A "door" is an external program that you can run from your own system, via this BBS. Your SysOp decides which programs to offer, and which callers can use those programs . If any doors are available, you will be presented with a menu of the doors that you can "open". At the bottom of that menu will be a list of doors available to you. To run a door, type its letter, and then press <ENTER>. To quit the doors menu, type QUIT and then press <ENTER>. (F)iles library: This command selects the (F)iles library menu, from which you can list, search for, examine, download, and upload files. The (F)iles library menu has its own help screen. (G)oodbye: When you are finished with your call, press (G)oodbye to tell the system that you wish to disconnect. When prompted, type "Y" to confirm, and then wait for the system to end the call. In a voice telephone conversation, it is rude to hang up without first telling the other party - the same is true when calling a BBS system. (H)elp: Displays this help screen. Help is available in the main menu (this menu), the files library, and the message system. 'P(Information: Choosing this command will result in a display of statistics about this BBS (L)ist of users: Displays a listing of all users who are currently in this BBS's database. (M)essage system: Moves you to the message system. From there, you can read, send, and search for messages. You have the ability to send a message to any other user on the system. You can read any messages addressed to you, as well as non-private messages sent to other users. (N)ewsletter : If available, a newsletter can be read by selecting this command . (Questionnaire: If the SysOp has configured this option, you can answer a list of questions. Responses are delivered to the SysOp. (S)ignal SysOp for chat: You can signal the SysOp to indicate that you want to communicate "live" - using your keyboard (and the SysOp's). When you signal the SysOp, the system beeps to notify the SysOp that you wish to chat. If the SysOp is available, you will be told that he or she is ready to chat, and you can type back and forth to each other. The SysOp ends the chat Psession. If the SysOp is not available, you will be given an opportunity to leave a message for the SysOp. (W)ho called recently: Displays a list of recent callers. You can select a forward or reverse listing of recent calls. The length of time that call records are kept is determined by the SysOp. END OF HELP FOR MAIN MENU
